Dear Parents,
A few things to share today!
In Chapel today, we sang a GREAT hymn and I wanted to share
the words with you. It was such a good
and powerful reminder that God is with us throughout our entire day.
Lord of
all hopefulness, Lord of all joy, Whose trust every childlike, no cares could
destroy
Be there
at our waking, and give us we pray, Your bliss in our hearts, Lord, at
the break of the day.
Lord of
all eagerness, Lord of all faith, Whose strong hands were skilled at the plane
and the lathe
Be there
at our labors, and give us we pray, Your strength in our hearts, Lord, at
the noon at the day.
Lord of
all kindliness, Lord of all grace, Your hands swift to welcome, your arms to
embrace
Be there
at our homing, and give us, we pray, Your love in our hearts, Lord, at
the eve of the day.
Lord of
all gentleness, Lord of all calm, Whose voice is contentment whose presence is
balm:
Be there
at our sleeping and give us we pray, Your peace in our hearts, Lord, at
the end of the day.
Thank you to all that were able to drive for our field trip to
the bowling alley last week! A good time
was had by all!
Did your firstie bring home their “Love Bug” from me yet? Some firstie chose to keep it at school on
their desk, which is just fine! They
were fun to make and hopefully your firstie likes theirs…
This was our Valentine's Day craft! They turned out pretty cute! |
Next month is National Reading Month, and we are going to be
doing a few fun things! One of those
things is our Secret Readers (i.e. YOU!).
I have a few parents signed up so far. If you are willing to be a secret reader for
our class, please let me know. Again,
the reading takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, at 8:15am. If you have a book that you are thinking
about, let me know and I can make sure it is not one we have heard before. If you aren’t sure about a book, I can get
you one! Please practice your book a few
times through as well. Thank you for
considering being a “secret reader”!
Next week we will be celebrating 100 days of school! I will let you know at the beginning of the
week, just when that will be (just thinking about any WEATHER we might have…).
I am sure that you heard (or saw!) by now what we worked on
today in language class! The firsties
were surgeons and did “surgery” on words by making contractions. So FUN!
Hopefully (HOPEFULLY!), this will stick in their brains!
Every firstie HAD to have an "official" doctor's badge! |
Workin' hard... |
Tomorrow is our spelling pre-test! Thanks for helping your firstie to prepare
for the test!
Blessings on your evening.
Miss Gallagher
