Dear Parents,
Hello! Welcome to a new week (because, really….doesn’t it feel like Monday?!?) and a new month!  We are slowly starting to get into the swing of things....how are things going at home?  Is it getting any easier to get your firstie up for school?

Here are some “jitter glitter” pictures from the beginning of school!  I had one firstie tell her mom that she slept SO WELL, because of the “jitter glitter”!  ;) I love that!

We are reviewing on how to write our letters of the alphabet (uppercase and lowercase) and today we practiced writing our spelling words.  Do you see our little helper that we use to space out our words correctly?

He’s SPACE MAN……!  And his only job is to help firsties put space between their words!  Ask your kiddo about him and what he is used for.

In Religion, we have been talking about Creation.  Your kiddo brought home bags that have little pictures that they colored.  Each picture represents something that God created on particular days.  I told the kids to quiz you to see if YOU remember what God created on what day.   Remember, it only took God 6 days and He rested on the 7th day…. (Even though there are 9 pictures….). How’d you do?
Then the firsties were asked to draw their favorite thing that God created.  I saw some pictures of flowers, moms, pets, beaches, etc…everyone had something different!

Just a reminder about dress code! Please double check with the parent handbook (which is on our school’s website www.trinitymonitor.org  or if you aren’t sure, you can always ask me!  Thank you!
Tomorrow we will be having our first prayer partner activity.

Did you send in your firstie’s information sheet?  Again, this is just for reference and no gifts for the prayer partner are required.  As soon as they have all been turned in, they will then be dispersed to the prayer partners.  Please watch for the information sheet to come home soon.
Have a great evening!
Blessings!

Dear Firstie Parents,
Welcome BACK!  It was wonderful meeting all of you over the last week and I am looking forward to working with you as we go through this school year.

Our theme for this school year is: A Mighty Fortress is Our God, and each month we will be building on this theme…learning more about our powerful Savior and Lord.  Stay tuned….!

Tomorrow I will be sending home many notes in your firstie’s folder; a new (and correct!) class list (please recycle the old one), information about GoNoodle and how you can download it at home, information about Spelling City (we won’t be using it right away, but I will let you know when we do), our Church and Sunday School paper (this needs to be checked, signed by YOU, and sent back every Monday), a copy of our class schedule, and information about allergies in our classroom.

Our “specials” (Art, P.E.) classes begin tomorrow!  Sometimes, for P.E., students go outside.  I don’t know what the plans are for tomorrow, but just in case, please make sure your firstie has their gym shoes ready to go.

Don’t forget to send me your pictures of your firstie and their “Jitter Glitter”.   586-907-1649

Sleep well and see you in the morning!

Dear Parents,
4 more get-ups!  The balloon pop has been fun!
"Look Miss Gallagher!  It goes small to BIG!" ( I seriously didn't plan that....actually, not so sure I COULD plan that!)
This is the first year I have done anything like this and with a few tweaks, I think I will do it again next year!  Good stuff.  Below are some pictures of some of the different activities.
"Reading on a blanket, in our shades..."

"This book is very interesting!"

"It's a good book!"

Crazy socks and shoes

Sidewalk Spelling!

"It's FUN, Miss Gallagher!"

"It was fun, but using the chalk was harder that using a pencil, Miss G."

"Movie and Popcorn!"
In the parent letter that was sent home today, there was a reminder of our last test of the year, our spelling test (which will be on Wednesday).  Thank you for making sure that your kiddo is prepared.

Please send in a big garbage bag or other bag on Thursday, which will be our “clean out” day.  Your firstie will also probably need some help with those big ol’ full bags on that day.

Field Day is also on Thursday and please dress your firstie appropriately.  The different activities will be inside and outside, and there will be running and just MOVING a lot.  If you want to send in an extra water bottle, that is totally fine, but it will be your firstie’s responsibility to carry it around and not lose it (I suggest a plastic water bottle that you will not be upset about losing….JUST in CASE!).  Our lunch for Field Day will be hot dogs, chips, etc, and we will be eating out at the pavilion.  We will be eating in shifts, and we will be eating around 11:30.  I believe that the Field Day activities will be kicking off around 12:30.

Friday, the firsties will be receiving their report cards, their end of the year binders, and various awards, so they will need to have their backpacks with them on that last day.  The awards assembly will begin around 8:30 and Chapel will follow that around 10:00.  You are more than welcome to attend both.

One more blog on Thursday and that's a WRAP!
Have a great week!
