Dear Parents,
Happy Thursday!  Aren’t you glad that the sun is shining?! Now if it would only get a little warmer outside….but I am not really complaining, I promise!

Ask your firstie who read us a story at story time today!  (I only wish that I had found this sooner! This would have been perfect to include in National Reading Month!) There is a program where astronauts read children’s books from the International Space Station…so very cool!! Ask your firstie what the astronaut was doing when she was reading the story….!  They were pretty amazed…

How are the STEAM projects coming along? I am so excited to see how everyone’s experiments came out!  Remember the boards can be brought in earlier than Wednesday, but are DUE by Wednesday. If the experiment is able to be displayed, that can also be brought in to show next to or in front of the board.  I also can put the book next to the board as a part of the display, too! Please send in the book by Wednesday.  The STEAM Fair is a week from today; 6:30-8:00 in the gym.  Hope to see you there!
Book orders are due by next Friday, the 27th.  You can order online and if you spend $5.00, you can use the coupon that I sent home for a free book (with a value of up to $5.00).

Tomorrow is HAT day!  Each student may wear a hat if a dollar is brought in for the Student Council.  Not sure which hat I will wear, but rumor has it that Mrs. Parsons is going to be wearing a VERY colorful one.

Please continue to work on the different hands on an analog clock. We learned about time to the “half hour”.  They are doing well but the more practice, the better!

Memory test and spelling test tomorrow and please help your firstie remember to bring back their “take home story bag”.

Looking ahead….
we are going to be doing a pretty neat Mother’s Day Project and will need $3.00 per child, to offset the cost.   The moola doesn’t need to be in right away, just sometime before the beginning of May.  Thank you!

Blessings on the rest of your evening!
In the risen Christ,
Miss Gallagher

Dear Parents,

Happy Snow Day?
In the middle of April?
Don’t you just love it?! (Trust me, I am being quite sarcastic....)

How are the STEAM projects going?  I am looking forward to seeing how they turn out!  Remember that a board needs to be created to show at the STEAM Fair.  They are due by next Wednesday, the 25th.  But of course, if you want to bring in them in sooner, that is okay too! The STEAM Fair is next Thursday, the 26th, from 6:30-8:00.  I am excited to see what other classes did too! Hope to see you there!

Memory for this week, each firstie will need to tell me their address and phone number.  The phone number can be a cell phone number, but please have your firstie identify whether or not it is Mom’s cell phone number or Dad’s cell phone number.  Thanks!

Our practice spelling test will still be on Wednesday, and the regular test will be on Friday.  Thank you for helping your kiddo prepare for these tests.

Mr. Pashak came and read “Where the Wild Things Are”.  They loved it!  We have been so blessed to have many of you come in and read to us for Reading Month…THANK YOU!

Mrs. Dent is going to be making a few more trips down the seminary.  I just cleaned out my closet (AGAIN!) and am able to donate more things.  If you looking to clean out closets and/or cupboards and don’t know where to bring them….bring them to school and Mrs. Dent will happily take them down to the sem! Thank you!

Thank you for sending in the permission slips for Special Person’s Day.  We are looking forward to presenting Chapel.  If you are not the “special person” but still would like to come and support us for Chapel, you are more than welcome to join us for Chapel.  We would love to see many familiar and smiling faces!

We made “suncatchers” for our classroom window.  Ask your firstie how we made them….they were surprised and amazed….!

Blessings on your week and hopefully (HOPEFULLY!), the weather will take a turn.

Dear Parents,
Happy Tuesday (Is it just me, or did TODAY feel more like a Monday, than yesterday did?)!
The blog will be short today! I just wanted to share a few things with you and also remind you of a few things as well.

Have you seen our “Wall of Kindness”?  Over the break, it got a little bit of a face-lift and it is AWESOME!  It the wall right outside the gym.  If you get a chance, check it out!

Spring pictures are tomorrow!  Everyone will have their picture taken, but it is up to you on whether or not you would like to purchase them.  Please watch for them to be sent home.  If you don’t want to purchase them, please just send them back in.  Thank you!

We learned about syllables yesterday!  Ask your firstie about this!  Have them clap out different words (Warning….you might be tempted to do this too!) to figure out how many syllables are in each word.  FUN!

We are winding down chapter 11 (subtraction) in Math!  The next chapter we will be covering is time!  Do you have both kinds of clocks at your house? If you have both, analog (with hands) and digital clocks, that is awesome!  If you don’t, that is totally okay!  I will be sending home paper ones that your firstie can practice with.

Don’t forget Special Person’s Day reservations are due by THIS FRIDAY!  Each student that is planning on bringing a special person to needs to send in their own reservation.  Remember that this is a half day and dismissal is at 11:30.  Also this is the day that we are presenting Chapel!  (There is a lot happening that day!)

Library books are due tomorrow!
Blessings on your evening!
