Dear Parents,
Just a quick little blog!
We read a great story yesterday called “The Carpenter’s Gift”. The story is partly about the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center in New York City.  Did you know that when Christmas is over and they are done with the it, the tree is milled and the lumber is used for Habitat for Humanity?  SO NEAT!
The lighting of the tree is on NBC tonight at 8:00!
Check it out!
We are back to working hard!
This next chapter in Math is all about adding.  Are you working with the flash cards that were sent home?  It doesn’t have to be every day, but continually working with them, keeps the math facts on the forefront of their brain.  I don’t want the math facts to get lost!
Thank you to all that have sent me a FD about our Advent service (December 12th).  If you haven’t yet, please send me a FD message about whether or not your firstie will be attending our Advent service.  Thanks!
Blessings on your night!

Dear Parents,
I am almost embarrassed to send this, because it is so late!  Below are some pictures from the last few weeks!  Please enjoy and make sure to read the captions…
We begin with our trip to the Midland Center for the Performing Arts to seeThe Very Hungry Caterpillar.

After the performance, the puppets came out and we got to see how their size and how they moved!

A good time was had by all!

Did your firstie tell you about their Pen Pals?  We've started writing to a first grade class in Fort Wayne, IN (a college friend of mine) and are looking forward to getting letters back!
Working hard!

Very neat handwriting! :) Great for our fellow firsties to be able to read!

We talk about sins and how we live in a sinful world.  A few weeks ago we wrote down three things that we know that we have done wrong and then turned them into chains.  Then we talked about Jesus "broke the chains" of our sins when we are forgiven.  So we "broke our chains" as well to represent Jesus doing that!  Awesome!

We karate chopped them!

Do you see Brevin? I love his expression!
Tom the Turkey has been successfully hidden, I think!  Great job everyone!  The last day to vote is Friday and the winners will be announced on Monday (there may or may not be prizes involved....!)

And finally, do either of these look familiar to anyone?  When I don't have a name, I can't give the BOOK IT pizza certificates...if you recognize either, please let me know. Thanks!

Whew!  Thanks again for your patience and understanding!
Blessings on the rest of your week!
