Dear Parents,
We wrapped up our Reading Month today with our final “secret reader” (Mrs. Anderson with special guest, Delia...).
She read to us a story about the legend of the game, "Rock, Paper, Scissors"....
Mrs. Wuerfel read the story "Danny and the Dinosaur", which was a book from MY childhood....Love it!

Pastor Sherry read us a story called "Zoop!", which was a super fun participation book...the firsties loved it!

Look at those smiles!

Mrs. Giffel read us a story about a family that worked together to buy their mother a comfy chair.
Thank you for all that were able to come and share a book with us!  It definitely helped to make our month lots more special.

Did your firstie tell you that we heard a book that was read to us from outer space?!?!?  There is a reading program that video tapes astronauts reading from the international space station.  It is SO COOL.
We heard a story about a dog named Max who went to the moon (not a true story).  If you want to check it out, click on the link below!

The winners of the door decorating contest has been announced!
3rd place….PRESCHOOL (they received a $25.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble)!

2nd place…….FIRST GRADE (we received a $50.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble)!!!

1st place…..SEVENTH/EIGTH GRADE (they received a $75.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble)!

So fun and so exciting to be able to purchase more books for our classroom (you know me and my love of books….!!!).

In Social Studies we have been studying about continents, countries, states, landforms, bodies of water, etc…A few years ago I found this FANTASTIC video created by a teacher, to help kids remember what the 7 continents of the world are.  For your viewing pleasure…. (and you just might laugh too…..!)

The Operetta rehearsals have been good!  I am excited to share this story with all of you and our “special people” tomorrow.

Finally, did you know that we had a bunch of pirates that visited our classroom yesterday?  Good thing they were cute and friendly...

I told him to look "mean".....LOL!

Blessings on your spring break!  Safe travels!
Maybe I will see you around town?

Dear Parents,
Reading month continues....
and so do our Secret Readers!  Last Thursday we had Brycen’s grandpa (Mr. John Mzorinski) come in and read to us about a porcupine that just wants a HUG (we probably should ALL have given him a hug and made him REALLY uncomfortable….lol!)!

Today, Mrs. Amthor (Isaac’s Mom) came and read us the story “Toy Story 2”.  So FUN!

Our morning tubs got changed around and “springy” items and activities were added!  Check them out below!

Can you make a shamrock out of pipe cleaners?  Pipe cleaners and beads?

Thank you for sending in some fun things for St. Patrick’s Day!  The firsties loved them all!
I brought in felt shamrock pins for the firsties, to ensure that EVERYONE was wearing green! ;)

Jordis brought in some fun, sparkly, sticky, green SLIME!  Did they have a great time playing with it??? You bet they did!

Did you see that awesome rainbow that God spread out in the sky for us last week?
I took this picture from the end of my driveway.
What a beautiful (and complete!) reminder of His grace and His love.
Blessings on your evening!

Dear Parents,
How was your Tuesday? It seems that the firsties had ants in their pants or something today, because wowie, wow, wow did many of them have a hard time sitting still and being quiet!  It can’t be “spring fever” because it’s still cold outside!  I don’t know but I am hoping that the rest of the week goes better….we have a  lot of learning to do!

Monday, our secret reader was Mrs. Chambers, and she read us a new story about one of our favorite book characters…Knuffle Bunny!
Today, Mrs. Herbolsheimer (with special guest, Grant’s little brother, Caleb) read us a story called “Dragons Love Tacos”.  I mean, who DOESN’T love tacos?!? Thank you to our secret readers!

Did your firstie come home yesterday with a band-aid? Was there an explanation? We learned yesterday about Jesus healing a crippled man.  We learned that not only did Jesus heal the man’s physical sickness, but he also healed the man’s sin-sickness.  We learned that we are ALL infected with sin-sickness, but have been healed through Jesus dying on the cross.  The band-aid was a reminder that we have been healed!

This coming weekend is St. Patrick’s Day! Because we are celebrating Reading Month with other fun things on Friday, we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Monday.  If you would like to send in something green to share with the whole class, that would be awesome (some examples would be  green apples, green pencils, green stickers, green grapes, etc…)!  Firsties can also wear green…lots of green!

Please keep those prayers coming….these last few weeks have been incredibly difficult.  Today one of the firsties asked me if I got a new dog yet.  Another firstie said that maybe they should get me a new dog for my birthday (which isn’t actually until AFTER school is out… whew!).  They are so sweet and just want to make it all okay for me. It’s going to take me awhile for things to be okay again.  So, I just continue to ask for your prayers.
Blessings on your evening!
