Dear Parents,
Yesterday started out with practicing for our Advent service with the Preschoolers.  We also got to practice with the hand chimes!  There are only 4 hand chimes, but all will get a chance to at least play a hand chime or two to see what they are like.  They are fun little instruments and much more durable than the bells.

We practiced our spelling words by playing a couple games of Tic-Tac-Word.  The word cards went home yesterday (in a sandwich bag) and have your firstie show you how to play the game (They will be reviewing and not even realizing it…!)

Pastor Sherry took us on a tour of the church (Though not of the outside because of all that crazy wind!) and pointed out what all of the stained glass windows at the back of the church, represents.  Ask your firstie if they remember any of the different symbols and any of their meanings.  Then we went to the front part of the church and pointed out the pulpit (where the pastor or priest preaches the message from), the lectern (where God’s Word is read from), the altar (where our offerings are placed), and the baptismal font is (that one is pretty self-explanatory…).  Then Pastor told us about the stained glass windows in the front of the church and showed us both small rooms on either side. He even let each firstie, one at a time, go up and stand in the pulpit!  Ask your firstie what they saw while they were up there and what they thought about it!  Finally, Pastor pointed out different places in the church where it is obvious that this was built in a farming community and built as a farm church.  The next time you are at Trinity, look at the windows on the sides, look at the ceiling, look at the ends of the pews…there are plants, flowers, vines, and evidence of a farm church all over the place! I am thankful for this farming community and this church home called Trinity Lutheran!

Windows that show God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

Math Choice Boards for chapter 5 went home as well.  Remember that they are due next Monday, December 11th.  If your firstie wants to use the back of that paper, that is totally fine. Happy choosing!

I know that I have said this before, but please check Fast Direct often so that you are up to date on happenings in the school and in our classroom.  The mid-term for the 2nd quarter is coming up soon, so please check on your kiddo’s grades and how they are doing.  There are quite a few missing papers, which does count against them, until the paper (or papers) is turned in.  If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask!  Thank you!

Happy Wednesday!
Miss Gallagher
